Let's come together to appreciate the significance of trees and enhance our artistic skills in a supportive community.
A little history… California Arbor Week is celebrated annually to highlight the significance of trees in our communities and the environment. Established to promote awareness and appreciation of the vital role trees play, this initiative occurs during the first full week of March, differing from National Arbor Day, which is observed in late April.
Named after the renowned California horticulturist Luther Burbank, who made significant contributions to plant breeding, California Arbor Week encourages residents to plant trees, engage in educational activities, and participate in local events that foster a deeper understanding of tree care and sustainability. By recognizing the importance of trees, this observance aims to instill a sense of stewardship toward California's diverse ecosystems, enhance urban landscapes, and preserve our natural heritage for future generations.
California Arbor Week serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to nurture and protect the trees that enrich our lives and environment.
