16th Annual Members’ Show
Every Spring, the PSSC holds an in-person, all-member exhibition to celebrate our artwork and make it available for sale and for viewing by the public and our peers.
Every PSSC member in good standing is guaranteed at least one piece in the show.
Judging
Aaron Schuerr, our Special Invited Juror, will select the works accepted into our show this year!
The winners in each of three categories (Gold, Silver, Novice) will be judged by our invited Distinguished Judge, Lisa Skelly.
Exhibition Dates and Times
The exhibition will be open to the public at Riviera United Methodist Church, 375 Palos Verdes Blvd., Redondo Beach, Calif.
May 1 through May 4, and May 8 and 9, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
May 10, 11:00 a.m. to noon
Gallery Docent
If you have a piece in the exhibition, please volunteer to docent for a time slot during the exhibition. You are welcome to bring your easel and pastels to paint during your time slot.
Gala Awards Reception
Join us on Saturday, May 3rd, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the site of the exhibition for the announcement of our judge’s winning selections. Many awards will be given! Please see our sponsors!!!
Art Fair
This year, we also have an exciting addition: an Art Fair on the Lawn! On Saturday, May 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. we invite you to exhibit additional artwork for sale in a booth or tent on the front patio of Riviera United Methodist Church. For inquiries, contact Lynn Attig.
Parking
Free parking is available on the lower level behind the building adjacent to Fellowship Hall, where we have our general meetings and workshops.
Important Dates:
Sunday, March 9 - Final day to submit entry on OnlineJuriedShows.com
Saturday, April 26 (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) - Take-in of accepted works at Riviera UMC (Out-of-town shipping option also available).
Saturday, May 3 (1-4 p.m.) - Gala reception, pastel Quick Draw event, and awards ceremony. In addition, we will have an optional Art Fair on the Lawn from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, May 10 at Noon - The Show ends. Artists are to pick up any unsold works immediately following the May 10 PSSC general meeting.
