Paint-Out: Sycamore Cove Beach

  • Sycamore Cove Beach at Point Mugu State Park 9000 Pacific Coast Highway Malibu, CA, 90265 United States (map)

Allegretto by Virginia Kamhi

Sycamore Cove Beach is at the southernmost beachfront portion of Point Mugu State Park.

This beautiful sandy beach is a favorite with beachgoers.  It features rock formations and a wide sandy beach with views north to Mugu Rock.  It is one of the closest and easiest to get to from the Conejo Valley and Camarillo via Las Posas Rd and PCH.  It is a popular beach with families looking to barbecue and enjoy easy access to the beach.

There are picnic tables and restrooms.  If you wish to stay for lunch, be advised that no glass containers are allowed.  Paid parking in the lots is $12 for the day or $3 per hour.  There is currently no free parking on PCH available.

PSSC member Virginia Kamhi will be the host of this event. She will save a table for us.  Look for her painting down near the big rocks to the south.  If you prefer to stay in the shade, try to grab a table under the trees and paint from there.  If you wish to picnic and hang around with other artists, bring your lunch.
