Up Close and Personal - Cropping in for a Closer Look

We will be featuring a demo and optional mini-workshop by local artist, Janet Johnson.
During the general meeting, Janet will be painting from a pre-cropped reference photo, most likely plant/foliage/floral subject matter in a square format to explore new and exciting compositional possibilites.
We hope you will join us! If you live out of the area, we will also be connecting our members via Zoom.
Come early at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and socializing.
To participate in the General Meeting via Zoom, log-in information will be provided within a few days of the meeting.
Mini Workshop
The Art of Nature by Janet Johnson
During the optional mini workshop, Janet will first discuss ways to crop in closer on our reference material while trying to create an exciting composition. Then artists will paint from their own or instructor provided reference material.
Time: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. following the general meeting.

About Janet…
Janet Johnson is an international award-winning pastel artist with a working studio in her home in Southern California. She is a juried Associate member of the Pastel Society of America, and Signature member of the Pastel Society of North Carolina and the Degas Pastel Society. She is also a juried member of the International Guild of Realism and the American Impressionist Society as well as several other local and regional art groups.
Janet has won over 60 exhibition awards and has art collectors locally and nationwide. She has presented programs about pastels, and conducts workshops and private lessons in the pastel medium.
