General Meeting and Optional Mini-Workshop with:
Virginia Kamhi
Virginia Kamhi is mesmerized by the movement and energy of water moving over and around rocks, and many of her paintings reflect this passion, be it waterfalls or waves rushing over rocks. Her demo will be a coastal scene.
This will be a very special meeting! Not only will we have Virginia teach us new skills, we will celebrate the holidays with a catered luncheon, celebrate the 100th birthday of our long-time member Ada Passaro, and we will offer a member art swap meet where members can bring their wares to sell or trade.
We hope you will join us! Come early at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and socializing.
If you live out of the are, consider participating in the General Meeting via Zoom. Log-in information will be provided within a few days of the meeting.
MINI-WORKSHOP
Our local beaches provide many opportunities to observe how water moves over and around rocks. In this workshop, Virginia Kamhi will demo her techniques for creating convincing volume and texture in rocks and how to use color to capture the movement of water crashing and rushing over and around rocks. Learn how to create the illusion of translucency and light and airy sea spray. Artists may use their own reference photos, but are welcome to use the image provided during the workshop and follow along with the demo.
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. following the General Meeting
Cost: $40
This optional workshop is for members only unless we do not fill it. In that case, the workshop will be open to the public with registration information on this page.
